Technologies Right for Bermuda

Naturally Renewable Power

Renewable energy is harvested from natural resources such as sunlight, wind, rain, tides and geothermal heat. These sources are renewable as they naturally replenish. Renewable energy technologies include solar, tidal, wave and wind power, as well as bio-fuels, biomass, geothermal and hydroelectricity. Some of these technologies are more easily adapted for use in Bermuda than others.

Our extensive research has helped us to choose the renewable energy technologies best suited for Bermuda's unique climate including:

Solar Photovoltaic

Solar Photovoltaic (PV), also known as Solar Electric, converts sunlight into useable electricity to power selected critical loads in your home such as refrigeration, fans and lights.

Solar-Thermal Hot Water

Unlike Solar PV systems, solar-thermal water heaters use solar panels to convert sunlight directly into heat rather than electricity, which is then used to heat your building’s water on an as-needed basis.

Micro-Wind Generation

Wind turbines generate electricity from the naturally occurring force of the wind, rotating the turbine’s blades. The electricity generated is used to power appliances in your home.
